Calvin Roesler as Missionary in Indonesia. 5" x 3 1/2" color photograph of Calvin Roesler, a Waseca native and a missionary to the Asmat in Irian Jaya, Indonesia. He developed a written Asmat alphabet. His life's work was translating the New Testament. Here he is pictured trying his hand at cutting a canoe from a huge log.
